In the next term you have two departmental electives. The offering for the two courses are given below. You may contact Ruban (Sec-A&B) and Manikant (Sec-C&D) for indicating your preference. The last date for submitting the form is 11th April, 2013 by 04:00pm.

DE 1:
1.
Environmental Engineering-II
The course will introduce the concepts and details of the
municipal waste water treatment or sewage treatment. Conventional wastewater
treatment processes, with special emphasis on secondary biological processes
and their design will be taught.
2.
Industrial Sewage Treatment
The course will introduce the concepts and details of the
sewage treatment generated from various industries. Design and layout of
treatment operation for specific industries (e.g., food and beverage, leather,
etc.) will be taught. A special emphasis will be on the design and operation of
combined effluent treatment plants (CETP).
DE 2:
1.
Transportation Engineering-II
Students will be introduced to the concepts of railways,
airport and water transport design. Specifics of rail tracks, yards and
signals; airport runways and layouts; and harbor design will be discussed in
detail.
2.
Railway Engineering
The course covers the details and design of railways
including, railway tracks, signals, yards and crossings.
3.
Pavement Design
Construction, design and maintenance of pavements is
discussed in detail.
The rules and instructions:
- · Indicate your preferences by writing 1 for the first preference, 2 for the second and 3 for the third against the courses in the above table
- · Please fill in all preferences. If you do not fill all preferences, your department will fill in arbitrarily.
- · Since there are limited number of seats in each of the courses, the allotment of the courses will be carried out by drawing of lots, and then strictly according to your preference order.
- · If at the time your name is drawn the seats in your choice of first preference are already filled, your next preference shall be allotted.
- · If the registration for a course is not sufficient, the course may be dropped, and your next preference allotted to you.
- · All allotments of courses will be final.
